Can someone point me to the URL of a plug-in that should work. I'm having trouble finding one. Much appreciated. Thanks.

Try Togu Audio Line's - they're great and free. In particular, TAL-Noisemaker:

I generally prefer the VST version....

Great, glad you're up and running. I also like Green Oak Software's "Crystal" - again, I prefer the VST, as they have a bunch of presets available from various people:
