  • I'm afraid I can't help on this one, sorry! Personally I've never had an issue with that chip going bad - perhaps there's something wrong elsewhere in the unit that's not making it behave correctly?

  • Thanks for the report - I can reproduce your experience using the Zyn-Fusion v3.03r20 demo, using the app in both 32 or 64 bit modes. I'll have to investigate with Cycling 74, as I'm dependent on Max's plugin support within Audio Plugin Player. …
  • Great, glad it's working well for you with your setup!

  • Just to update this thread, starting in the just released version 2.1 of the app, General MIDI drums are now accessible via MIDI channel 10.

  • Just FYI, the latest versions (starting with v2.0) of General MIDI Player do now play General MIDI files.
  • In the meantime - some users (including me!) have had success in repeatedly trying to open the app; if nothing happens after launching the app, force quit it, and then try again. Sometimes after 3 or 4 or 5 tries it magically starts to work!
  • Thanks for confirming. I will continue to investigate and work on a solution, my apologies in the meantime.
  • Basically you just need to install this older version of Java on your system, it shouldn't matter if you also have the newer one installed as well, they can coexist (at least they do on my machines): https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1572?locale=en_US…
  • Being very honest, I'm still stumped by this, I apologize. I just haven't been able to figure it out yet. I'm still almost positive it's a Java issue, but the problem is that it seems to be intermittent; I have machines where sometimes I can get i…
  • Yes, you can run multiple instances, and have each instance set to a different MIDI channel or device. To create a new instance, follow these steps: 1) Control-click on the app, and select Duplicate 2) Control-click on the duplicated app, called…
  • That's fantastic, thanks for sharing that info, I'm sure will be helpful to other people!
  • Version 1.3.1 is now available on the App Store for free update. It hopefully addresses the crashing issue on 10.13.x (as well as a few other things). I'm still wrestling with some plugin's copy protection, which the app is not working right with.…
  • Just wanted to follow up on this - the new version 1.5 available in the App Store as a free update now allows for pitch bend while in MIDI mode.
  • I haven't heard anything on my end, sorry... One thing I might suggest - if you can track him down, John Fera from Peavey, who designed at least the software for the PC1600(x), in the past was very helpful when issues arose with the device. Maybe t…
  • I've confirmed that there is in fact a problem with the app not starting up properly in some situations on 10.13.1. I'll be working towards implementing a fix soon, stay tuned and sorry for the problem.
  • Sure: dan@defectiverecords.com
  • Thanks - it should definitely work on that system, using the Built In Audio. Could you try deleting the following: /Users/YOUR_ACCOUNT_NAME/Library/Application Support/Audio Plugin Player/ /Users/YOUR_ACCOUNT_NAME/Library/Preferences/com.defectiv…
  • Sorry about your experience - can you give more details of your system (what kind of Mac, the exact OS version), including whether you using a third party audio interface, or just the built-in audio?
  • Sorry about your experience - can you give more details of your system (what kind of Mac, the exact OS version), including whether you using a third party audio interface, or just the built-in audio? Re: refund, I'm happy to do that if that's the…
  • Re: suggested DAW - really anything that outputs MIDI files will suffice! Re: your 2nd question - not really sure of the answer, but know that DSX currently does NOT encode any patch information on Track 0, it was one of the things that got left ou…
  • Not currently (just the percussive sounds that you can see in the list currently), but good suggestion for the future, will keep it in mind!

  • The number displayed is a calculated number - and because of minute timing differences between MIDI clock pulses, sometimes the rounding of the calculated value changes up or down slightly. As JesusChris says, the audio should not be affected.
  • Assuming you've done these things, if you can let me know what device and/or app you're using, I can try to reproduce and/or do some research... For me, using something like Ableton Live as clock start source, it works correctly...
  • Forgive me for asking, but are you certain that you have the "MIDI" choice selected in the Clock section of the app, and that in that section you have selected the correct MIDI clock generating application or device? Some people get confused with t…
  • Hi Malte - thanks for the feedback. I will re-look at the MIDI sync code to see if there's anything that can be done with respect to stability. But I have a question re: what you mean when you say "start when it receives a MIDI clock in" - it's al…
  • Sure, that's definitely a possibility too....
  • I've not had this particular problem, but I've got to think it something along the lines of what you've tried with the Deoxit - must be a slider whose connection is flaky, and it's sending values each time it "reconnects." Is it always values from …
  • Not within the app, sorry.
  • Apologies for the long delay - I finally had a chance to look at and decode the files you sent Peter. Thank you, they were helpful. The bottom line is that I realized that I didn't build DSX Hack in a way that supports polyphonic MIDI files! This…
