  • That's fantastic, thanks for sharing that info, I'm sure will be helpful to other people!
  • Version 1.3.1 is now available on the App Store for free update. It hopefully addresses the crashing issue on 10.13.x (as well as a few other things). I'm still wrestling with some plugin's copy protection, which the app is not working right with.…
  • Just wanted to follow up on this - the new version 1.5 available in the App Store as a free update now allows for pitch bend while in MIDI mode.
  • I haven't heard anything on my end, sorry... One thing I might suggest - if you can track him down, John Fera from Peavey, who designed at least the software for the PC1600(x), in the past was very helpful when issues arose with the device. Maybe t…
  • I've confirmed that there is in fact a problem with the app not starting up properly in some situations on 10.13.1. I'll be working towards implementing a fix soon, stay tuned and sorry for the problem.
  • Sure: dan@defectiverecords.com
  • Thanks - it should definitely work on that system, using the Built In Audio. Could you try deleting the following: /Users/YOUR_ACCOUNT_NAME/Library/Application Support/Audio Plugin Player/ /Users/YOUR_ACCOUNT_NAME/Library/Preferences/com.defectiv…
  • Sorry about your experience - can you give more details of your system (what kind of Mac, the exact OS version), including whether you using a third party audio interface, or just the built-in audio?

  • Re: suggested DAW - really anything that outputs MIDI files will suffice! Re: your 2nd question - not really sure of the answer, but know that DSX currently does NOT encode any patch information on Track 0, it was one of the things that got left ou…
  • Not currently (just the percussive sounds that you can see in the list currently), but good suggestion for the future, will keep it in mind!

  • The number displayed is a calculated number - and because of minute timing differences between MIDI clock pulses, sometimes the rounding of the calculated value changes up or down slightly. As JesusChris says, the audio should not be affected.
  • Assuming you've done these things, if you can let me know what device and/or app you're using, I can try to reproduce and/or do some research... For me, using something like Ableton Live as clock start source, it works correctly...
  • Forgive me for asking, but are you certain that you have the "MIDI" choice selected in the Clock section of the app, and that in that section you have selected the correct MIDI clock generating application or device? Some people get confused with t…
  • Hi Malte - thanks for the feedback. I will re-look at the MIDI sync code to see if there's anything that can be done with respect to stability. But I have a question re: what you mean when you say "start when it receives a MIDI clock in" - it's al…

  • Sure, that's definitely a possibility too....
  • I've not had this particular problem, but I've got to think it something along the lines of what you've tried with the Deoxit - must be a slider whose connection is flaky, and it's sending values each time it "reconnects." Is it always values from …
  • Not within the app, sorry.
  • Apologies for the long delay - I finally had a chance to look at and decode the files you sent Peter. Thank you, they were helpful. The bottom line is that I realized that I didn't build DSX Hack in a way that supports polyphonic MIDI files! This…
  • The different preset types is a good idea, I will look into whether I can do it for a future version... Re scale types - there's 31 scale types, and those are scaled (no pun intended) to fit into 0-127. So it changes roughly every 4: 0-4 Major 5-…
  • Perfect, thanks Peter - I received the dumps. Won't have time to look till probably the weekend, but will report back to you. And cool on the Track 0 stuff, glad you got it sorted!
  • Are you sure that you have Track 0 set to ON on the SELECT PLAY TRKS page? Please send the dump to dan@defectiverecords.com . The sequence should be as simple as possible, ideally like just two notes held down at the same time.
  • Hi Peter, I don't have the ability to test against an OBxx synth, as I don't own one. With regards to the tempo being written to Track 0, in my experience there are times where for some reason when loading from cassette, the tempo information is…
  • Thanks for the update, and sorry it didn't work.....
  • Sorry for what you're experiencing, keep me posted of how you make out. If I think of anything else in the meantime I will also report back here.
  • I had to go look at the code again, it's been so long since it was written. Yes, the Klee is programmed to start playing immediately - and no there's currently no ability to force it back to Step 1 (e.g. a "rewind" function). I'll put that on the …
  • This may be a problem with just how MIDI Beat Clock works. There's no way that Klee can immediately lock onto timing information, because it relies on the difference between adjacent Beat Clock pulses to determine the BPM. That's why in the Klee m…
  • Re: solder lugs - can't you just limit the Mouser search to "through hole"?
  • As I said above, I've not had to do this on mine, but visually these seem like very standard tactile switches. Have you looked on Mouser or similar? Take a look: mouser.com/Electromechanical/Switches/Tactile-Switches/_/N-5g2m
