PC 1600x Studio Module driver Gilbert Poliquin ** Version 1.01 DESCRIPTION This is a "device" (i.e. a driver) allowing Cubase's Studio Module (PC version) to interface with the PEAVEY PC 1600x MIDI fader box. All three types of memory (Presets, Scenes and Global) are supported and Presets can be renamed. CONTENTS This archive contains the following files: - PC1600x.DEV: the driver for the PEAVEY PC 1600x MIDI fader box; - PC1600x.d: the source file for the driver; - All - Blank (init).16X and - All - factory.16X: sample memory banks (all 3 types of memory); - Presets - factory.16X and - Scenes - empty.16X: sample Preset banks. - PC 1600x Device Readme.txt: this text file. INSTALLATION Please refer to your Cubase manual. NOTES 1. Because the dynamic nature of Presets, the size of All Presets dumps vary. It is very difficult to identify and work with each individual Preset within an All Preset sys-ex dump. In order to simplify matters, I chose to forego the All Preset bulk dump and receive/send each Preset one by one instead. This slows down matters noticeably but helps keep things manageable. 2. You can rename Presets by Alt-clicking on the name of the Preset you want to rename. Just remember to update the PC 1600x' internal memory by Ctrl-Clicking on the name afterwards. 3. Use the "Auxilliary" Bank to reorganize Banks and load individual Presets into locations of your choice: just click on the name of the patch you want to use and the PC1600x will prompt you for the location where the received Preset should be stored. HISTORY Version 1.01 There was a problem with the initial release of the driver where, under certain situations, dumps from the computer were not always correctly written in memory (some Presets were skipped or written to more than one memory location in the PC 1600x). In order to make transfers to the PC 1600x fully reliable, delays between each Preset dump have been made longer and delays have been added before sending a "write" command. This has taken care of the problem, at the cost of much slower send operations. Version 1.00 Initial release. FINAL All comments are welcome.
