“Circulation” is DJ and producer Mike Parker‘s 6th release on Defective since 1994, releasing both his solo efforts as well as material with Trybet (a collaboration with Aric Rist). These releases have earned enormous success on an international level, generating huge interest both in the US and abroad. He has licensed material to top labels (especially in Germany), including Holger “Hoschi” Wick‘s Virtual Recordings, as well as to the Groove Magazine anniversary compilation.

It’s now time for the latest (and perhaps greatest!) Mike Parker effort. “Circulation” shows a further refinement of Mike’s now classic sound – minimal, moody, dark and driving techno. He continues his recent use of minimal vocal samples, but on this release, he begins to explore new dimensions in rhythm as well, mutating breakbeats and jungle rhythms in his own special way. Yet, somehow, Mike manages not to destroy his very smooth, propulsive, and extremely danceable style in the process.

Mike’s got strong DJ’ing skills too, and when on the turntables, he spins an eclectic mix of dark electro-trance. In addition to playing regularly at several northeast US events (including Lollapalooza), Mike has ventured onto the international DJ circuit as well, recently spinning in France. His live performances are pretty cool too!
